Many people think that Azor Ahai, the prince that was promised, could be either Jon Snow, Stannis, or Danaerys, but when you have an author like GRRM, it most likely won't be that obvious. A man would like to know who people think Azor Ahai will be. Personally, a man thinks it will be Jorah Mormont.

I think George will surprise all of us with a very weird option. Maybe Azor Ahai doesn´t exist, maybe Hot Pie is Azor Ahai, maybe I´M Azor Ahai. But a zombie wants to know why a man thinks Jorah is Azor Ahai Shocked

He could easily fit all the requirements for the prophecy, being born amidst salt and smoke when a bleeding star shines in the sky, having the blood of the dragon, and dragons following. To clear things up, a man strongly suggests watching this video -Film Theory: Game of Thrones Jorah Theory by Film Theory on YouTube

Jorah being AA is interesting, but there are a few things that make me thing that it is not him. First of all, Jorah did contract greyscale, which could mean nothing, but does suggest that he is going to die before the series ends. However, he is perfectly fine in the books. Jorah is also not a POV character, which also could mean nothing. From what that video said, Jorah could very well be Azor Ahai, even though that theory is not as popular as some others (which is the reason why it may be the best theory out there).

There is strong evidence that makes me think that it is either Jon or Daenerys According to evidence in both the TV show and the books, Daenerys could definitely be Azor Ahai, which is what worries me. She fits the bill so perfectly it seems like she is not what everyone thinks she is--it is clear that GRRM would do this, since he likes to not do the norm. Even Maester Aemon says that she is the prince[ess] that was promised... Jon, i think, is a lot more likely to be Azor Ahai. He has dreams of being Azor Ahai, and when Mel asks R'hllor who AA is, he shows her only Jon. Even in the show, Jon is put in direct opposition to the White Walkers, and especially their leader.

Jon and Dany would make a good AA pair ~ a song of ice and fire, but we also know that the "dragon has three heads", meaning there is a good chance that AA could actually be three people. Dany, Jon, and Jorah (as you are suggesting). If its not Jorah that there has to be someone else out there who matches the descriptions for AA.

Maybe the prophecies of Azor Ahai and The Prince that was Promised are unrelated...maybe they are different people? Maybe they all are related and and describe a single person? All we can do now is speculate and make educated guesses. Just think--a year from now when TWoW and Season 6 are out, we might know who Azor Ahai is... Wink

(I know it's long, but stay with with me on this one. It explains some things for those who may not be aware.)
{As given by the Film Theorist}

Who is Azor Ahai?
One of the best things about GoT is that the back history of its universe actually starts thousands of years before the events of the series. We are just now beginning to see some of the old legends become a reality. There is one very particular prophecy that has some serious implications on how the story will play out.

One of the most interesting concepts in GoT is the mythical religion centred around R'hllor, the Lord of Light and the Heart of Fire. In the religion of the Lord of Light, the God R'hllor is the sworn enemy of another God, known simply as The Great Other. They are designed to be equal and opposite forces in the world. The Great Other is the entity supposedly controlling the White Walkers. According to GoT lore, the last time the White Walkers came , one of R'hllor's heroes rose up and defeated the White Walkers against The Great Other. But now that Winter is Coming again, so too is The Great Other and the White Walkers.

The Hero was named Azor Ahai, and lived roughly 8,000 years before the events of the series, during what is known as The Long Night. During The Long Night the entire world went dark, everyone starved and the White Walkers invaded. Azor Ahai was chosen by R'hllor to defeat the White Walkers. But to do that he needed a weapon that could actually kill them. His first attempt to forge a sword with which to kill White Walkers saw him work the steel for 30 days and nights. But when he dipped it in water to temper the blade, it shattered. For his second attempt, he worked the sword for 50 days and nights, then captured a lion and plunged the blade through its chest to temper it in the lions blood. But again, it shattered. On his third and final attempt, he worked the steel for 100 days and nights and sadly, pierced his own wife's heart to temper the blade in her blood. This time, it worked. The blade combined with his wife's soul to become the sword Lightbringer, a weapon that would make anything that came into contact with it burst into flames. According to legend, Azor Ahai used his flaming sword to beat back the White Walkers and end The Long Night.

There exists a prophecy, called the Prince that was Promised, that says one day, after an especially long summer, The Long Night will come again, White Walkers with it. The new Hero who would rise up to defeat the White Walkers would be recognised by a specific set of characteristics. He would have:
1) The Blood of a Dragon
2) He would be born "amidst smoke and salt as a bleeding star shines overhead
3) After his birth, Dragons will follow
With these signs, the people would know that the Hero has returned.
So who is The Prince that was Promised?

When we first meet her in the series, Lady Malisandre believes the saviour is Lord Stannis Baratheon. He also buys into the prophecy, setting up rituals to try to fulfil the prophecy. Technically he has Blood of the Dragon as he is the great-grandson of King Aegon V Targaryen. However, he was not born amidst smoke or salt, literally or symbolically. He also has no connection whatsoever with the 'bleeding star' comet in the sky during season 1.

The next most obvious candidate is Daenerys Targaryen.
First, she is Targaryen, which means she has Blood of the Dragon.
Second, though we don't know a lot about her birth, in the series we do see her 'rebirth'. After the death of her husband Kahl Drogo, she walks onto his burning funeral pyre. The next morning, she is found alive, sitting on the ground, with her dragons in her lap, naked as the day she was born. This is a symbolic rebirth. She is no longer a follower, a mother or a wife to a great Kahl, she is the leader now, a Queen. This also fulfils the third requirement that Dragons will follow. Also, the night of Kahl Drogo's funeral, the 'bleeding star' comet was streaking across the sky above Essos. So what about the Salt? Well, one of her first tests in her role of being a leader was to get the Dothraki over the Narrow Sea, of SALT water.
However, Daenerys is not the only near perfect match.

Jon Snow.
If the very popular and very plausible fan theory is correct, then Jon Snow is the son of Lady Lyanna Stark, Ned Stark's sister, and the Crown Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, making him the only other living Targaryen in the world, meaning he has Dragons Blood. Also, in season 5, we see that he possesses a sword that is able to kill White Walkers. So was he born amidst salt and smoke? Kind of, but only if you squint at it really hard. His actual birth was at the end of Robert's Rebellion, one of the biggest wars in westeros. So salt and smoke there? Or it could refer to his 'rebirth' into the Night's Watch. While Daenerys is traveling with the Dothraki and her Dragons, Jon Snow was having a crisis of conscience at the Wall. At the outbreak of the War of Five Kings, when his old home Winterfell had just been burned (smoke) to the ground, he left the Night's Watch and was only stopped by Samwell Tarley. This was the moment Jon left his old life behind and fully committed to the Night's Watch, and he has never wavered in that commitment since that moment. But it's reasonable to take this as his rebirth, which coincides with the comet over Essos.

Between their personalities, histories and abilities, Jon and Dany are both pretty ideal candidates. The only problem with either of these characters fulfilling the prophecy is the author who wrote the prophecy. Mr. Martin is not your average fiction writer. He's stated in the past that while he loves classic fantasy writers like Tolkien, he believes that the traditional fantasy tropes a lot of them have created have "hurt fantasy fiction more than they've helped." As a result, he intentionally goes out of his way to avoid them. You can see it in the books, main characters die, all the time. Good, bad, somewhere in the middle, they just up and die. Some go unceremoniously, without saying any long goodbyes or getting redemption or fulfilling some heroic destiny. It's that unpredictability that makes the show so great and what makes me think neither Jon or Dany are the Prince of Prophecy. G.R.R Martin himself said "Prophecies are a double-edged sword. You have to handle them carefully.  They can add depth and interest to a book, but you don't want to be too little or too easy." And that's the problem with Jon and Dany, it's too easy.

Instead, knowing that G.R.R.M is the type of author who enjoys sadistic plot twists, our Prince will be someone who also fulfils all the requirements of the prophecy, but will have a much harder time to death with its consequences. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is Ser Jorah Mormont. Let's examine his birth conditions. We've established that your 'birth' can be defined as the moment you're born into a new life. Danny's funeral pyre moment also applies to Ser Jorah. He made an important vow in that moment. A vow which, like Jon Snow, he has never wavered from. In season 5, he tells Tyrion that was the moment he decided to commit his life to Dany, abandoning the whole prospect of ever going back to Westeros. A new life. A rebirth in the smoke of the funeral pyre. He also did this under the same red messenger as Jon and Dany, the comet streaking across the sky, and the dragons following shortly after. So what about the salt? Well, again, in season 5, when he and Tyrion are sailing through the ruins of old Valyria, Jorah contracts greyscale, an often fatal disease that leaves the skin stiff and dead. A new chapter in his life begins in this moment. And it just so happens to take place on salty sea water.

There's still one big piece missing, the Blood of the Dragon. Jorah is no Targaryen, but notice that the prophecy doesn't say the prince IS blood of the dragon, it states that he HAS the blood of the dragon, and that could mean a lot of things. We assume that means he has the blood pumping through his veins. But it could just be referencing his sword having blood of the dragon, say, by killing a dragon. We have seen Dany's dragons lash out at her before, and Jorah would do anything to protect her. Also, consider the following. In his second attempt to temper his blade, Azor Ahai captured a lion and pierced his chest. What did Jorah just do earlier in season 5? Capture Tyrion, a lion of House Lannister. And what did Azor have to do in the end to produce a blade to end the Long Night? Pierce the heart of his beloved wife. No one in this entire series loves someone else more deeply and sincerely than Jorah loves Daenerys. If George R.R. Martin truely wants to throw fantasy tropes out the window, and shock us even more than the Red and Purple Weddings, Jorah being the Prince of Prophecy, having to kill Dany in order to retrieve the Blood of the Dragon to stop the White Walker invasion, that would definitely do it. He would have to kill Daenerys in order to save the world. And if he doesn't, anything and everything will die.

George R.R. Martin everybody. Wow.

Also, in A Clash of Kings, in the House of the Undying, Daenerys is told that three betrayals will be committed against her. One for gold, one for love and one for blood. The betrayal for gold was Xaro Xhoan Daxos. The second could be Darrio. And the betrayal for blood, may be Jorah, in order to retrieve the blood of the dragon.

That is a very good point! Why else would there need to be a betrayal for blood?
